Our latest washed Ethiopia delivers a warm and cozy cup with a sweet body and a pop of orange citrus. It comes to us from a community of coffee growers in the Shantawane village. The Ayla washing station, located just south of Shantawane village, processes coffee from 725 organic growers in a cool, river-bend setting ideal for drying. Washed coffees are depulped within 8 hours of harvest, fermented for 36–48 hours, then fully washed and dried on raised beds for 5–7 days. Owned by Testi Trading and operated by the Yonis family, Ayla consistently produces high-quality coffee we’ve sourced since 2015. Beyond coffee, Testi’s Project Direct has made a lasting impact through community investments, including building schools and the first high school in Hamasho.
